LIME-GLAZED APPLE CRISPS dehydrator snack · 7-9 hours drying · tested TESTED 2026-11-03. Made at home and it worked as written. Taste like sour apple gummy chips. Red Delicious apples are sweet but soft and flat; dry lime gelatin dessert powder adds the acid and dries into a thin candy-crisp shell on each slice. Dried in one fruit load at 135°F with the cranberry-peach-chia leather and the fruit gems. INGREDIENTS Red Delicious apples (cored, sliced 1/8 inch; enough to fill the mesh trays in one layer) 30 g lime Jell-O powder, dry (about; 2 to 3 Tbsp) STEPS Slice 1. Core the apples and slice them 1/8 inch (3 mm) thick on a mandoline or slicer. Dust 1. Lay the damp slices on the mesh trays in one layer. Lightly dust the dry Jell-O powder over them. Dry 1. Dry at 135°F (57°C) for 7-9 hours, until crisp. EQUIPMENT - Mandoline or slicer - Apple corer - Dehydrator with mesh screens STORAGE Cool completely, then seal in bags. Keep dry; they soften if air gets in.
