CRANBERRY-PEACH-CHIA TRAIL LEATHER dehydrator snack · 15 minutes, then 7-9 hours drying · tested TESTED 2026-11-03. Made at home and it worked as written. Rich, tart-sweet and chewy. Canned fruit purées into a silky base, the cranberry sauce brings tartness and pectin, and the chia soaks up extra water so the purée stays put on the sheet and dries chewy. Amounts marked "about" were spoon or can measures; the grams are conversions. INGREDIENTS 397 g whole berry cranberry sauce (one 14 oz can) 250 g canned sliced peaches, drained (about; one 15 oz can) 30 g crushed pineapple, drained (about; 2 Tbsp) 24 g chia seeds (about; 2 Tbsp) 5 g lemon juice (about; 1 tsp) neutral oil (a thin film for the sheet) STEPS Purée 1. Blend the peaches, cranberry sauce, pineapple and lemon juice until completely smooth. Rest 1. Pulse or stir in the chia. Let it stand 15 minutes so the chia swells and thickens the purée. Spread 1. Wipe a solid fruit roll sheet (or parchment) with a thin film of oil. Spread the purée 1/8 to 3/16 inch (3-5 mm) thick with an offset spatula, a little thicker at the edges, since edges dry first. Dry 1. Dry at 135°F (57°C) for 7-9 hours. Check at hour 7. It is done when smooth and translucent, with no damp or squishy spots in the center, and it peels off the sheet in one piece. Roll 1. Lay parchment over the warm leather, roll it up, and snip into 2-inch mini rolls with clean kitchen shears. EQUIPMENT - Blender - Solid fruit roll sheet or parchment - Offset spatula - Kitchen shears STORAGE Sealed bag, somewhere cool and dry.
